Every year, February 4 marks World Cancer Day.
Launched in 2000 by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), this global awareness day aims to promote prevention, early detection, and scientific advancements in the fight against cancer.
For the 2025-2027 period, the UICC is launching a new campaign: "United by Unique", a global call to action for a collective and coordinated fight against cancer.
Founded in 1933, the UICC brings together more than 1,200 organizations across 172 countries, working together to reduce the global impact of cancer. Its mission: strengthen prevention, improve access to care, and accelerate research.
With the "United by the Unique" campaign, the UICC is calling on governments, organizations, researchers, and citizens to take action.
Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, with nearly 10 million deaths per year. Yet, one-third of cancers could be prevented through effective prevention measures. Global mobilization is essential to reverse this trend.
Adopting healthy habits can significantly reduce cancer risks:

Thanks to the efforts of the UICC and its partners, remarkable progress has been made in cancer research: Targeted therapies, immunotherapies, artificial intelligence to improve diagnosis.
International cooperation is key to continuing advancements in cancer treatment and detection.
Everyone can contribute to this global movement:
On 4 February 2025, let's take a stand against cancer! Together, united by a single cause, we can advance the fight against cancer and save lives.
